About nextgen athletics
We Believe In
Building Better Athletes. Developing Better People.
We believe every young athlete deserves a coach who sees more than wins, statistics, or playing time.
Someone who believes sports are one of life’s greatest classrooms.
Because the lessons learned through training—discipline, resilience, accountability, confidence, and leadership—last far longer than any season.
That’s why we exist.
Not simply to build faster athletes.
But to help build stronger people.
Our Why
It Started With A Simple Belief
At NextGen Athletics, we believe athletic success starts with more than speed, strength, or skill.
It starts with building confident young people who are prepared to overcome challenges. Both in sports, and in life.
That’s why every workout, every coaching conversation, and every recovery session is built around one purpose:
Helping athletes become the strongest version of themselves.
Not just physically.
Mentally. Emotionally. As teammates. As leaders. As people.
What We Stand For
Respect
We treat every athlete with honesty, encouragement, and accountability.
Dedication
Progress comes from consistent effort—not shortcuts.
Ownership
We teach athletes to take responsibility for their growth, both in sports and in life.
Our Philosophy
Developing Athletes For Life
Sports will eventually end.
The lessons athletes learn through sports shouldn’t.
Every athlete who walks through our doors is on a different journey. Some want to make varsity. Others are recovering from injury. Some simply want to gain confidence.
Our job isn’t to compare them.
Our job is to help them become better than they were yesterday.
That’s why our coaching combines sports performance training, physical therapy, mentorship, and accountability into one complete approach to athletic development.
Because success isn’t measured only by championships.
MEET THE TEAM
Experienced coaches. Trusted mentors.
Our coaches don’t just teach movement—they build relationships, challenge athletes to grow, and create an environment where hard work, accountability, and confidence become part of everyday life.
Dr. dusty campbell
Founder, PT, DPT, Athletic Development Coach
Dusty created NextGen Athletics after years of treating youth athletes in South Jordan, Utah and noticing a common trend. Utah youth athletes are NOT being taught exercise technique nor how to improve athleticism in a progressive, safe manner.
He believes that it is his mission to bridge the gap between inexperience and full tilt performance as efficiently as possible while educating his athletes on injury prevention.
Doctor of Physical Therapy (University of Utah 2019)
10-Year Strength and Conditioning Coach
College Hockey Player for West Virginia University (2010-2014)
4 Years Tier II Junior Hockey
When I’m not working, I’m working… but between that, I spend my time with my wife (Renee), new daughter (Zoey), and dog hiking, snowboarding, and exploring Utah’s beautiful mountains.
Colin Gordon
Athletic Development Coach
My passion for athletic development comes from years of competing at high levels of baseball and experiencing firsthand what quality coaching and intentional training can do for an athlete.
After playing Division I baseball and spending 4 years in professional baseball, I developed a deep appreciation for training with purpose. Too many athletes are taught to simply work hard or get strong without learning how to properly move, train, recover, and develop long-term.
I believe athleticism is built through intentional training, not punishment workouts or chasing social media trends.
At NextGen Athletics, my goal is to help athletes build confidence through movement quality, strength development, and competitive discipline while learning how to train the right way for long-term success.
– Former Professional Baseball Player (2021-25)
– College Baseball at College of Southern Idaho (2017-2018)
– college baseball University of Louisiana Monroe (2019-2020)
– Bachelors in Kinesiology / Pre-Physical Therapy
– Baseball Skills & Performance Coach (7 years)
When I’m not coaching, I’m usually spending time with my wife (Brooke), fly fishing, being outdoors, watching baseball, or continuing to study athlete performance and development.
Take a Look
Life At Nextgen Athletics
The best way to understand NextGen isn’t through words.
It’s by watching athletes encourage one another, celebrate progress, and put in the work every single day.
This is what growth looks like.
